Another health food product review this week and up this time we have the Cacao and Almond Oat Bar by Deliciously Ella.
Deliciously Ella describe their cacao and almond oat bars as: A great all-day snack. Packed with fruit, oats and fibre, we make these all the time at home!
Deliciously Ella produce a range of healthy food products including their breakfast cereals(bircher muesli, nutty granola and original granola), their energy balls range and of course the oat bars, which we are reviewing the Cacao and Almond flavour today on the blog.

I purchased the Cacao and Almond Oat bars by Deliciously Ella a few months ago on one of my weekly shopping visits to the local Tesco supermarket here in Glasgow.
I’m always happy when I see supermarkets introducing more brands of healthy, wholefood, plant-based snacks such as the oat bars by Deliciously Ella.
The Cacao and Almond Oat bars were very tasty and made for a filling, wholesome snack.
The ingredients are healthy, 100% vegan and also gluten-free, so are suitable for celiacs and individuals with gluten sensitivity.
The main ingredient of the Cacao and Almond Oat bar is gluten free oats, which is an excellent staple, healthy plant-food. Oats are a good source of the soluble dietary fiber beta-glucan(β-glucan), which studies have found to help lower total and LDL-cholesterol levels.
The Cacao and Almond Oat bar as you can probably guess from the name contains almonds. Recent scientific research has found that higher nut intake is associated with reduced risk of developing cardiovascular disease, total cancer and all-cause mortality. Almonds are an excellent choice of nut to include regularly as part of an otherwise heart-healthy plant-based diet.
Cacao is a great source of heart-healthy flavanols and is one of my favorite superfoods for supporting cardiovascular health. Studies have found that cocoa flavanols can improve endothelial function, lower blood pressure and have favorable effects on select cardiometabolic biomarkers such as insulin sensitivity and lipid profile.
