Vanilla Turmerlicious Latte Review

This week’s health food product review and here we have the Vanilla Tumerlicious Latte.

Firstly I would like to say thanks to the guys at Turmerlicious for generously sending some samples to try the product.

Turmerlicious produce a range of instant turmeric latte products in a range of different flavours including vanilla, ginger, choco and chilli choc.

Turmeric(Curcuma longa) is a popular Ayurvedic herb that is part of the ginger family(Zingiberaceae) and has a long traditional history of both culinary and medicinal usage.

For the past few months I have been on a “golden turmeric milk” binge and have been really enjoying turmeric lattes as an alternative to herbal teas and the occasional black coffee that I have.

So reviewing the Turmerlicious products couldn’t have come at a better time…

Review

Turmerlicious is a well-designed product that covers all the bases as far as enhancing absorption and bioavailability of curcuminoids such as curcumin from Turmeric root.

There are two main methods to increase absorption of the likes of curcumin.  One method is to pair turmeric/curcumin with dietary fat or phospholipids.  In this case coconut milk is used as a plant-based vegan source of healthy fats.

Another method to significantly increase the bioavailability of curcumin is by pairing with black pepper, which contains piperine and studies have found can increase absorption of curcumin by around 2000%. [1]

The vanilla flavour is probably the most delicious turmeric “golden milk” latte that I have tasted to date.  The addition of the vanilla blends very well with the coconut milk and turmeric root to create a nice creamy latte.

The Turmerlicious range is gluten free, dairy free, caffeine free and vegan.  Contains no artificial flavours or emulsifiers.

I would definitely recommend our readers who are interested in trying “golden milk lattes” to give the Turmerlicious range of products to try.

They are convenient, easy to clean up afterwards and a delicious way to get a nice dose of turmeric root into the diet, along with other healthy spices such as ginger, cinnamon and black pepper.
