This week’s adaptogen herb product review and up this time we have the Organic Jiaogulan Loose Leaf Tea by Na’vi Organics.
Na’vi Organics are a United Kingdom based retailer of premium quality medicinal herbs including their range of full-spectrum extract powders.
They stock an impressive range of adaptogenic herbs from Jiaogulan to Schisandra to Panax Ginseng to a variety of Medicinal Mushrooms and much more.
Na’vi Organics award winning jiaogulan gynostemma tea that I am reviewing on the blog today is grown on small organic farms in the highlands of Thailand where the air, water and soil are some of the best in the world.
Na’vi Organics exclusive nonpareil grade loose leaf Jiaogulan tea is fresh and organic, no fertilizer, no pesticides, produced in the mountainous regions of Northern Thailand, it is certainly the best grade available.
Gynostemma pentaphyllum also known as Jiaogulan or “Southern Ginseng” has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of several diseases, including hepatitis, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Jiaogulan is actually about 7 times higher in sterols than Panax Ginseng.
Modern medical research has shown that GpM exhibits a variety of pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, lipid metabolism regulatory, antiproliferative, neuroprotective and anxiolytic activities. [1]
Review
Jiaogulan is one of my overall favorite medicinal herbs and in particular one of my favored go to “adaptogen”.
I have been a huge fan of Jiaogulan as an adaptogen herb for about a decade now, where I was first introduced to the plant by renowed herbalist James Sloane on the old curezone health forums.
Na’vi Organics Premium Quality Organic Jiaogulan Loose Leaf tea is some of the best quality Jiaogulan tea that I have sampled to date.
You don’t need much at all, about half a teaspoon infused for 10 minutes or more produces a nice strong cup of Organic Gynostemma herbal tea.
Jiaogulan is one of my favorite adaptogens because it is non-stimulatory, bi-phasic in effect meaning it can be both energizing and calming in effect depending on the situation and is a great choice of herb for supporting the adrenal glands.
Jiaogulan makes for a delicious caffeine free herbal tea that is very mild and delicate in flavour. The taste I would describe as sort of “grassy” but sweet at the same time and with sensation on the palette similar to Camellia Sinensis tea.
Overall: I would definitely recommend our readers to check out Na’vi Organics Premium Jiaogulan tea and their amazing range of other herbal products.
Their 10:1 full-spectrum extract herbal powders are also worth checking out and are very potent.
